The Short Version

AddressGuard Bitcoin makes zero network calls. Nothing you paste, scan, save, or verify ever leaves your device. We don't have a server, because the app doesn't talk to one.

What We Collect

Nothing. AddressGuard Bitcoin collects no data of any kind, from anyone, ever.

  • No account, no login, no profile.
  • No analytics SDK.
  • No crash-reporting SDK. AddressGuard Bitcoin previously shipped an inactive Sentry integration during early development (SDK linked, but never configured with a real key, so it never sent anything anywhere); it has been fully removed from the app as of July 11, 2026 — not just disabled, deleted.
  • No advertising SDK or advertising identifier.
  • No third-party SDK of any kind.

What Stays On Your Device

AddressGuard Bitcoin may store the following locally, on your device only, never transmitted:

  • Bitcoin addresses, Lightning invoices, Lightning Addresses, and LNURLs you paste or scan for verification
  • Bitcoin targets you choose to save in your local address book
  • Optional local verification history, if you leave history logging enabled
  • Files you explicitly export or share yourself

This data never leaves your device unless you personally choose to export or share it. We have no way to see it, because we have no server for it to go to.

No Liability For Loss of Funds

Bitcoin and Lightning payments are irreversible. AddressGuard performs a local format and checksum comparison only — it cannot detect fraud, malware, social engineering, wrong-chain sends, or user error, and it cannot guarantee that a payment target is safe to pay.

SideEye Labs accepts no liability and no responsibility for any loss of funds, missent payment, or other financial loss arising from your use of AddressGuard — including where the app reported a match, a "SAFE" result, or no warning. You use AddressGuard entirely at your own risk, and you remain solely responsible for verifying a payment target before you send. Full terms: Terms of Use.

Third-Party Services

None. AddressGuard Bitcoin does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or cloud service.

Children's Privacy

AddressGuard Bitcoin does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data from anyone.

Changes To This Policy

If this ever changes — for example, if a future version adds an optional, clearly-disclosed network feature — this policy will be updated first, and any such feature will default to off.
